LED LIGHT THERAPY
Based on well-established research completed by NASA, Red Light Therapy and Blue Light Therapy offer more than a little glow to your skincare routine.
LEDs are semiconductors that produce light. Depending on the wavelength, a different color light is produced, each with a different impact on the skin, mind, and body.
How does Red Light Therapy work?
With a wavelength of 630 to 700 nanometers, red LEDs travel two to three millimeters below the skin's surface, into the dermis. Red Light energy stimulates the fibroblasts, encouraging the production of more collagen and elastic fibers. Red Light Therapy also reduces the skin’s existing amount of MMP-1, an enzyme that breaks down existing collagen. In addition, Red Light treatments decrease inflammation, improve circulation, increase cell energy and accelerate healing.

How does Blue Light Therapy work?
With a wavelength of 400 to 470 nanometers, blue LEDs target the epidermis. When Blue Light energy comes into contact with the skin, it reduces the bacteria that causes acne and blemishes and stimulates cell regeneration to improve skin tone and texture.

LED origins
Initially developed as a means to help nurture plants in space by NASA, scientists noted how different wavelengths of LEDs created different impacts on organic matter, which led to efficacy studies in medicine. Clinical studies have found that Red Light Therapy increases the energy of cells in human tissue without damaging the surface of the skin. It has been determined that Red Light Therapy is a powerful tool in wound healing, pain relief, boosting collagen, repairing sun damage, reducing the appearance of scar tissue, reducing inflammation and improving the overall vitality and appearance of the skin. Blue Light Therapy has shown conclusively that it reduces the occurrence of blackheads, whiteheads, inflammation and skin irritation by eliminating the bacteria which causes acne. It also helps to minimize future breakouts and blemishes. These significant findings put LED at the forefront of anti-aging and anti-acne treatment modalities because of the proven results, safety, ease of use and cost effectiveness.
